Sat. at B-yard - can you say, "debacle?"

Well, the subject line is not totally true.  Mike, Barbara, and Dave ran smart and without pain.  Brent and Tray - not so much.  My morning - overslept, had to go back for my Garmin after driving about a mile, couldn't get my stupid backpack to stop leaking from condensation (which caused a soaking wet shirt and shorts), and then knee pain almost from the start of the run.  Oh yeah - couldn't get GPS satellites for at least a mile.

So Mike ran 10, Barb ran 6, and Dave ran 8.  A new girl (Anuncha?) joined us and had a much faster long run pace - probably sub-10 min.  Ironically, she joined my old running group but screwed up the meeting place for their long run this morning.

So by mile 12, Brent and I gimped along and added some extra walk breaks.  It was a solid 3 hours of "movement."  Brent did close to 18.  I guess I did 17 and change.  Not a long run I want to repeat!

Sat. Brickyard Run

Hola Amigos!

I'm taking over Lee's role today in sending out the info. for tomorrow's run.  So far, it looks like Brent, Mike, and myself will be there.  Per Brent's plan, we're running 19-20 miles starting at 6 a.m.  That should be early enough for you, Mike!

Lea can't make it but should plan to run outside soon!  Barb and Dave, give a shout out if and when you will be there tomorrow so that we can meet up with you.

See ya bright and early,
Tray

Adding an addendum - I forgot about Rosie!  Sorry Rose.  What are your plans for tomorrow?

Hola Amigos!

No running today - just a 2 mile walk on the beach. Barry and I got
ambushed at the airport by some salesman who roped us into a guided tour
of the property next door, in exchange for a free excursion of our
choice (worth $400). He swore about 5 times that it's not a timeshare
but we found out that it is a timeshare or vacation club. So Barry and
I gave a $40 deposit for this - estupido! Barry said to forget the $40
but I said I would walk over and get the deposit back. They don't want
to mess with an angry woman from CT! So I walked over this morning and
got our money back. No problem, didn't even have to get angry.

In other news - I lost my pinky toenail today. :(

Have a good run in the AM. I'm in the process of devising my marathon
training plan.

Re: [Brickyarders] Call to Brickyard!

I will run to Brickyard tomorrow. I plan on running from home on the streets to the Brickyard parking lot-about 7 miles, meet everyone and run back on the regular trail-about 9 miles. If all goes well I should be at the lot @6:10. So you won't see my car but should see a sweaty, bearded guy about when you're ready to start.

Brent expressed an interest in doing some early miles and will be starting at 6 AM. Rose and I will be joining him then. We'll be back at the parking lot @ 7 AM to join anyone that wants to start then. Tray's still eating tacos south of the border. Not sure about anybody else. So, yeah, Mike, we've got at least 3.

Call to Brickyard!

Start time 7 AM. Mike's doing Petit on Sunday so is going only 4 or 5 on Saturday. Tracy's done with rocky trails and 95 degree weather and we welcome her back. Meredith has been mentioning her interest in leading us on some of the trails in the area so maybe next Saturday we could try that. Rose expressed some interest in the Scottish Rite 5K in Newington at the tail end of this month so I've put up a link to it on the blog's calendar. Brent will be at Brickyard. Lee is running a 1/2 in Jamestown, RI on Saturday. If anybody's carrying a camera Saturday, take a group shot and email teamprimalforce@gmail.com!

Happy 4th. Happy 7th and 8th. Happy Days!

This Saturday, if you're not in Maine on vaca' or in the early stages of running 100 miles on the Viaduct Trail in Pennsylvania, you are invited to join the Brickyarders @ 7 AM for a run. We wish our Ultra Girl, Tracy L. Zagata Vroeginday, the very best of everything on her epic adventure on this day. When we run our "puny" 8 to 13+ miles, we will think of you and send you thoughts of the most positive kind. Go get 'em Tray!

Lee and the gang.
