Lani and Rose crush Malibu

Rose writes:

Lani and I went to run the Malibu Fitness 5K. I think that is the craziest thing I've done in all my life! They did not put salt on the road, it was a sheet of ice. I was so happy to finish in 38 minutes without going to the hospital.
There was nobody in my age group. I won a beautiful trophy!  I was the craziest woman to run  in that condition. I think the yoga classes helped me. I have a really good balance now.  After Lani and I ran fast 5K on the treadmill that was fun and safe. Today the sun is out and it's a beautiful day. We are going to cut up the Christmas tree.

Lani had a good race yesterday. 2/60 in her age group! She ran 2 miles before the race and 5 miles after the race. And she was not afraid of the ice! I thought I was the only one in my age but I guess I was wrong There were four of us crazy old ladies!

Scotland Scoot 4 mile

This was an "elusive town" and the Run 169 Towns (aka DEBTiConn) group put it on. Adam couldn't run it due to injury but volunteered and of course took a gazillion group selfies at the end. Mike and Lee ran it. The course was a bit short (more like 3.84 miles). Very rural area. Hilly. Temps were sub-freezing. Lots of kilts in site including Mike's which Chris sewed up for him.

Here's what Linda took.

Lee finishing. Ran with Caitlin Rossi. Got blown away by Marty Paglialunga at the end

Happy Birthday Mike!!

Happy Birthday Mike! Great run this morning w/ you, Tracy and Joe. We managed 21 miles at an average pace of something like 9:52 I think. Last couple of miles were closer to 9:15 I think. Joe took the lead at the end. Tray and I pulled each other along.

Thanks for the pix!

Call to Brickyard!

Roxbury is 4+ weeks away. Tray's thinking 20-22 at Brickyard. Lee's in. Start time is 7 AM. Lee's Scotland Scoot 5K (an Adam 169 group creation) time may suffer. No, will suffer. But, as she puts it,

May put a damper on your 5K race time for Sun. but... priorities, right? :P

Ghost Run

http://www.coolrunning.com/results/14/ct/Nov1_GhostR_set1.shtml

No fewer than let's see, Tray, Lani, Sri, Joe, Lee, Adam and Lea, that's 7, Brickyarders made it. Adam bettered his time by 8 minutes. Lea went under 2 (that's the first time she's done that). Lani forgot to pack her work clothes which she needed to put on after the race (what's more important, running gear or work clothes?) She ran well. Joe did 1:43 (and gave Lee a hard time about the 30k he and Lee did or sort of did a few weeks back). Sri and Larry Regan did 1:36, 1:35. Tray got dropped in the last 5k by Lee who crossed w/ his Mixed Doubles 10k Relay partner in 1:51:58. He was "stalking her" (her words) in the last 3 and was not sure if it was she until he was side by side. Hey, she did well. We all did well. Linda took the pix.
