Now that Mike has put us in nostalgia mode ...

Lee, Not sure if you have these nice pictures from 2012 when you, Tracy, and Lani ran the 50 mile race. I think Rose ran a few loops that day. Thought you would like them.

Pace analyzer

This post is an edited version of my previous post. I have updated the Pace analyzer program. If anybody tried the last one, replace it with this one. It is much more accurate.

I have been working on a computer program which analyzes Garmin data.

Upload your run with https://connect.garmin.com/ per usual to see the splits, map etc.

To use my program, copy the .FIT file on your Garmin watch to some place on your hard drive and then convert this to a comma separated value file via http://garmin.stevegordon.co.uk/

Here's a sample run:

H:\>chapter.8.2.1 -f 14207_A3E81534.FIT

chapter.8.2.1.c - 3/14/20 - lrb

Usage : chapter.8.2.1 -f filename [-n num]

filename is a .FIT file which has been converted
to a comma separated value file by http://garmin.stevegordon.co.uk/

num defaults to 30 which corresponds to approximately .25 mile stretches.
use a larger num for longer stretches, a smaller num for shorter stretches.

record count 442

avg. pace over this 0.250 mile stretch was 18.800 min. per mile
avg. pace over this 0.280 mile stretch was 18.393 min. per mile
avg. pace over this 0.230 mile stretch was 17.754 min. per mile

avg. pace over this 0.220 mile stretch was 21.667 min. per mile
avg. pace over this 0.270 mile stretch was 17.716 min. per mile

Late breaking ...

We apparently don't know how to tell cats and hedgehogs apart. The caption under Sonic has now been fixed.

Sonic is a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run at supersonic
speeds and curl into a ball, primarily to attack enemies. In most games,
Sonic must race through levels, collecting power-up rings and avoiding
obstacles and enemies.
