Brent and Lee at Castle Craig

Finally got around to doing this one. Brent and Lee crossed simulataneously. The "race" is a 5k but most folks run down after they've run up. Took us 34 and change. We both felt the difficulty was overrated but maybe that's cuz there was no snow on the ground.

Karen Prado and Sharon Reiner and Lee up top.

Ran into Bob Najarian at the (very warm) building before the start. Was "interviewed" by the Meriden Press. Here's the article:

Mike and Lee (and 233 others, mostly 169ers) ran the inaugural Morris 4 Miler on Sunday. Rained but not hard during the race. This was Mike's 3rd workout of the day.

"I'm currently #4 in the state challenge for highest miles with 136."

Two new kings were crowned.

Joe Vailonis Memorial 8 Miler

Tray, Mike ("Agent Orange") photo bomber, Joe, Brent, Bob Tumiski, Lee

About 35 people made it. (Which is about 2x last year's turnout). Tray thought it was on the roads (which it has been, due to snow in the Meadows) but this year it was in the Meadows, a truly beautiful place.

I think Tray placed 6th overall, Joe 5th. Two fast guys, then Todd (RD) and some other guy were in front. Lee ran for about a mile w/ Tray who then headed out. He ended up running a fair amount with Larry Hodge. Fun to reminisce w/ him of many races and to make excuses why they were running so slow (I hurt here, I hurt here). Lee's time suffered when he decided to chat with a guy who was photographing eagles ( see spike in pace graph :) )

Larry's daughter (winner) Lauren is in the white out front. She goes to Ithaca College. Kevin Marcowski is left of her and Larry is left of Kevin.

Thanks Todd. Well done.
