Re: [Brickyarders] Delaney Dash 2012

OMG - everybody kicked some major ass!  It was so humid.  The pictures are amazing.  So tell me, did Amanda pass that girl?  And Lee, did you pass the girl right by you?  Kathy L. needs to put her hair up!!  Brent was going so fast that his picture is a blur.  LOL  Sorry I missed it, but not really.  A race like that is torture for me.  Not unlike my afternoon - out at 2:30 p.m. for a 2 hour and 45 min. run.  Went through more than 40 oz. of liquid but no food!  Ran on big rocks (like you see in planting beds) for almost 2 miles.  Not tired at all.  ;-)

Great job everyone!  Lee, congrats on your award!

Judi's daughter Amanda made page 3 of the results, as did Brent, both running 7 minute and very low change. To show you how competitive a race this is, Brent placed 19th in 50-59 and Amanda 5th in 30-39. The rest of us had to wait a bit for pages 4 and up to get posted. Rose and Judi found themselves part of a large field of veteran women and placed 4th and 7th, running 9 minute and low change. Lani finished in 29 and change and Lee finished in 30 and change.

Complete results

Linda took some great pictures. Click the one at the top to see them all.

Re: [Brickyarders] Bobby's Run

There are 38 runners on the results list.  I thought Bekkie said about 80 registered.  Could that many not have showed up?

Yes, Mike was struttin' his stuff today. :-)

Damn Lee, Tom was only a minute in front of us!  I thought there were age group awards but didn't see any ages posted on the results.  Did you or Mike place?

Mike went sub-9. Tracy and Lee took it easy but picked it up in the last couple of miles.

Tomorrow ... Newington 5K and for Rose and Lee, the Michael Litwinka Memorial 5K Run in Naugatuck.

Tracy and I are going to run this race instead of going to Brickyard tomorrow morning. We're trying to help Bekkie Wright out (who is the race director). As we're both going to try to do well at Newington on Sunday, we're going to take it real easy in Vernon.

I can't find the results - shouldn't they be up by now?  The link they provided only shows 2 races in NY.

Race in the Park!

Click the picture above for more pictures.

It was a beautiful day in the park today! The men's 5k was at 8 AM. Brent, Mike, Tom Walsh and Lee had great races. Brent ran 21 and change, Mike ran 24 and change, Lee ran 23 and change and Tom Walsh probably broke 23. Results will be posted at the link above. Of note: Brent nailed it, Lee didn't break that elusive 23 (but is hoping Newington will change that), Mike PR'd and went under an 8 minute pace. Tom ran well. For the girls, Tracy did a 24:24, Rose ran 28 and change and I think Judi did too. Rose and Judi placed 2nd and 3rd. Bekkie Wright placed 7th overall with a 21:20 or so. There were about 5000 registrants, including the walkers. Linda took these awesome photographs.

Brent completes Providence in 3:48!

I ran the last six in with Brent today and I'm pretty sure the clock read 3:48 and change. He was strong at the end. He paced it well and should be very proud. Email feedback from his friends mostly consisted in remarks that it took all of them several attempts to get this kind of time. Brent's sense of humor is as sharp as ever.

"I will wait two days to ponder life then register for Mohawk Hudson."

Well done Mr. Stratton. Extremely well done.

Brent's Inaugural 26.2

All Brickyarders wish Brent the very, very best on Sunday, May 6 at the Providence Marathon. He has trained well for this, his first. Based on what he did in the race we see him finishing below (the Oleksak Half) I am predicting a spectacular time. See you around mile 23 Brent. I'll run you in.
