This morning's run(s)

The subject is plural because everyone did a different course. Christine, Lani and Barbara took the route you see above. Mike and Lee, who were slower, did the same thing but took a right turn where the others had, earlier, kept going straight. Linda, on her own, walked the 2 mile loop she and Lee had designed.

Christine introduced herself as "new" and told me that Tracy told her where we are now meeting.

So ... we are learning the roads in the neighborhood, meeting new people, and looking forward to future Sundays.

Brickyard 2 Mile Winter Loop

Lani and Lee and Linda have designed a simple 2 mile figure 8 loop off the trail and in the neighborhood which we are planning to run this coming Sunday, twice, making it a 4-mile run. This will serve us well when the trail itself is iced over (as it was last Sunday). It reminds us a little of when we ran in Wethersfield. Rolling hills (not steep), no traffic. Hope you can join us.

Some thoughts on other places to run

Lani and Lee ran 4 miles in the neighborhood of Brickyard Rd in Farmington this morning. The trail was too icy and the roads were clear. It occurred to us that staging timed runs for Hartford Track Club and Run 169 members would attract more people to get out and run. On February 6 there is already one that is planned for East Granby.

"Elusive" places like Ansonia, Stafford, Willington, Eastford, Hampton and Bozrah don't currently have any races. If something doesn't exist and you want it, create it! Stay tuned.
