Lynette Walker

I had lunch w/ Lori Riley today after our 5k in New Fairfield. She mentioned Lynette Walker. Here's the article.

And here's a pic of us after our race.

Run for the Woods 10k

This is Mike's "backyard." Sessions Woods. He, Robyn, and I ran it at 8:30 this morning. The weather was quite cool and I (Lee) was underdressed, aka, frozen. A beautiful course, challenging climbs, roots and rocks everywhere. I was just thinking how cool it was, having covered about 5 miles with no fall. Bam. Upright root caught me and I went down. Not a bad fall at all. Mostly pissed I fell. I think I was next to last. My watch read 5.58 miles but everybody else read about right (6.2) so maybe I blew a turn. I'd like to do it again next year.

Thank you Mike for the pictures.

New Haven 20k results and pix

It was a beautiful day to run. I missed seeing Jo M. and Barbara K. but Linda found them.

Lee took 2:18 to cover the distance. Don Capone beat him by 1 minute. John Courtmanche told Linda "I'm done" at about 6.5 miles and then volunteered on the water line. He usually beats Lee. The guy that did beat Lee beat him by 21 minutes. Ugh.

Larry Regan ran the 1/2

Adam was a pacer

Robyn Errickson, Linda and Lee carpooled down

Red Dress by Lani and Barbara (and a little Lee Strava / Relive at no extra charge)

Lani writes ... Hi Lee, nice to "see" you on Strava and Relive and congrats on your race. Barbara and I ran the Red Dress 5k this am, here is the photographic evidence!

See the above on YouTube

Here's what Lee did last nite in the E. Hampton "Glorious Gallup" 5k.

The crazies Lee loves to run with. BTW, don't know were Lee is in the above. Adam is in the back on the right. He ran a 19:40 in the 5k!

Strava

Fun Run via Relive

During our reunion run Lani talked to Lee about Strava and I just wanted to say I have started to use it and think it has a lot to offer. It is a social network for athletes. It can get feeds from Garmin uploads.

We will talk about this more.

Also, I've learned about a site called Relive.com.

See above link for an example of what it does.

Lani's video of Brickyard Reunion Run Collinsville,, CT

Here is a link to a video Lani made. She writes "Great seeing everyone this weekend!"

Reunion!

We ran between 8 and 16 and got a chance to catch up. Lani talked of a possible Portland, ME job and the fact that Peter's got only two more months to fulfill his contract obligations in the Charlotte area. Lee decided to run New Haven 20k along with Barbara and Robyn Errickson and Jo Marchetti. Mike had 5 miles in before he hooked up with the rest of us. His opening remark was that we would be running in his new hometown (his house is for sale and he owns a new condo). Adam did 7.3 with us and then headed over to Reservoir 3 and knocked down another 4 w/ Sergio and company. Tray, Lani, Linda, Rose and Lee had toast, English muffin, coffee and juice at LaSalle (it only took 45 minutes to prepare the toast). Here are some more pix that others took during the morning.

Let's do this again!

Brickyarders reunion!

Barbara Kream emailed us:

Hi everyone,

Since I'm totally incapable of figuring out how to blog on the Brickyarder's
site, I'm sending an email.

My left foot is still slightly funky, and I sustained a tear/strain in my
right calf in April. However, this is healed and I am running again hoping
to train up for New Haven.

If any of you would like to run on the trail at Brickyard Road, please let
me know. It would be fun to get together again.

I hope all of you are well. I follow you on Brickyarder's and Facebook!

Barbara

Thank you so much Barbara. Yeah, figuring out how to post to this blog is not obvious. Thanks for emailing me (us). Glad to hear you are on the mend. Hey, all, what Saturday would work for you. I don't currently have anything planned for this Saturday, July 1st. What's a good open Saturday for you?

Triple Play!

Mike and I ran one race in common this morning, a 5k in Terryville (Plymouth is the actual town). Per usual, Mike took pix and posted them on Facebook. Thanks Mike!

Jo Marchetti is a veteran for sure. Ran today w/o the neck brace she was finally able to shed after a car accident. I ran 3 races today, the final one a trail race in Oxford, CT, my 100th town in Connecticut . There's usually a lot of fanfare when a 169er hits town 100 but I only ran Oxford because friends suggested I join them. Blame Paul Baldini and Karen Rogers. Here's another shot.

Congratulations to Mike and Tray on Lake Waramaug!

We didn't get too many pictures but her time says it all:

Tracy Zagata 50k

5:01:50

Mike was a tad slower but his enthusiasm is a perfect 10.

Well done you two!

Chip nails Boston!

After training for many months, Chip ran a 4:05:39. It took great effort, especially in the final 4 miles. Well done!! You overcame a lot and arrived several minutes ahead of the 2018 Boston qualifying time. And this includes the cushion. Major accomplishment.

Linda took these pictures in the Public Garden after the race.

Asta!

Tray, Brent and Lee did 12 at Todd and Kim Brown's Asta Memorial this morning. We got passed by Bri and a friend at the very end. They did the 19.6. You do the math. We got pretty much soaked. About 30 folks made it. Hot cider, vegetable chili, banana bread. No shirt. No clock. Optional donation of 2$ (everyone gave at least that). Great to have three Brickyarders together. Paul Baldini asked if Tray was doing Waramaug. I told him she said she was considering the 50k. Maybe I'll show up and do a loop or two. Mr Run Every Day 'll prob. be there.

Revival

Let's hope the 0° temperature revives your inner desire to move forward. Just my way of reviving and testing a way to communicate here.

Did ~8 @ ~15 min/mi on my Scottish Rite loop. Doubt this will earn me any certificate from the WCMB (there was little wind).

I'm heading up to Castle Craig this Sunday. My only 2nd assault (the event is in its 48th year).

Joe Vailonis 8 miler

Todd and Kim Brown sent 20 runners off at 10 AM for the HTC Winter Series race. Rose and Linda walked 5 miles while we ran.

Tom Buckley and Todd finished first (Tom's hip replacement didn't seem to slow him down). Cassandra Day was the first woman. Kathleen Scotti did an early start. It was a bit muddy, breezy but very beautiful in the Meadows.

Lee ran 1:30:55. (about 11 minute pace). His new New Balance shoes got super muddy.

Linda took these pix.
