The Devil Made Me Do It

A bit of a day-of decision. Theresa reminded me of it. The course was 1.1 miles short (some early turn was missed by everybody.) Met a friend of Wanda's (Karen Prado) and a guy who remembered me from a run we did at Trinity in 1979, George Ripley.

Call to Plantsville!

Hello Brickyarders!

Wanted to invite you to my place for a run on Sat. morning.  No fancy, scenic route - we can just head down Mount Vernon Road and do an out and back, depending on how much mileage you want to get in.  Cars are a tad annoying but if we start at 7, there shouldn't be too much traffic out there.  If anyone prefers to use the rails to trails, I can give you directions (real simple) to run towards there and you can run anywhere from 6 miles and up. Bagels, juice, and coffee afterwards at my house.  Let me know if you're in.  My address is 77 Pacer Lane in Plantsville.  My home phone is 860-426-1920.  Tray

Lea, Tray, Mike and Lee selfied pre run. Did 5 mile loop once (Mike), twice (Lea) and part of a third (Lee and Tray).

Call to Brickyard

Tray's running 31 miles in the woods on Sunday.

Lee's going to be at Brickyard and will do around 15 this Saturday. 7 AM.

We're talkin' transition here. The big fulls are done. Roxbury is in December. A couple of 1/2s in November and of course don't forget Tinsel 2 mile.

What are you up to?

Thanks to Marathon Junkie Chuck Engle for running to raise money for Camp Rising Sun. A dollar was donated for every marathoner he passed after starting dead last - he finished in 40th place in 2:52:37 raising $3,000 for the camp.

He won Roxbury a few years back. Amazing guy.

This weekend

October is here. It's getting colder. The leaves are falling. We're getting older.

Tray is running a full marathon on Sunday. Nipmuck Trail. Apple Harvest 5 mile is on the same day. Looks like an off year for us.

Of course the big story is Hartford full, half and 5k. October 11. Adam, Lea and Mike are in. Lee is thinking of joining Bill Tribou who will run the 5k. Some of us (or our close friends) are doubling and doing Hartford and Newport (Saturday / Sunday). Wanda and Michelle Bosco come to mind.

Chip has a half planned near Turkey Day. Same day as the Wallingford Turkey Trot. Lee's thinking of heading out to join him.

Tray, watch your step. Be careful. Enjoy!
