Moose sighting and more

This Saturday  Barbara, Rose, Lee, Mary, and Lani met for 8 at the Brickyard.  Kudos to Mary, this was her first 8 mile run ever!!!!  No one was really sure if it was an Elk, Antelope or Moose, but we all sure saw something out there...

Next weekend will be filled with racing: Jamie's Run  5K in Wethersfield and NYC Marathon, both on 11/7.  Good luck to everyone in their events.

Looking ahead, several members of the group are planning to run the 8K XC challenge in West Hartford on 11/20 and in a break from the Manchester tradition, the Malibu Fitness 5K @ 7 (yes that's 7 am) in Farmington on Thanksgiving Day.

The Brickyarders are also tentatively planning The Hogsback Re-Do Half Marathon Challenge for the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.  We can run early, to make time for family events but it will be a good way to run off your T-day overindulgences. Highlights for the event will include Lani's Homemade PR Gel at designated aide stations - sure to boost your time.  One never knows, but there is the potential of a moose sighting as well.  Possible award categories to include:

**Do-Over Champs M/F: Runners with the Biggest  time discrepancies between September and November Events

**Fastest Smart Runners M/F: open only to those who wisely skipped the September event

**The Achilles Awards:  Several subdivisions in this one for runners with pulled hamstrings, piraformis problems, sciatica, hairline fractures, joint pains, allergies and asthma, and mysterious undiagnosed ailments

**Open to suggestions for other categories

Warning: anyone who runs slower than their original Hogsback time in September will have to proceed to the finish line, and re-run the entire course in reverse while running backwards!

  1. Love it. Will be there. Hogsback Re-Do that is. Will also be doing Jamie's Run on the 7th. Go Lani! NYC Marathon!

    PS

Added to the calendar on the right: Re-Do and Mitten Run (same day as Santa's Run).
