In light of the fact that ...
... and by popular request ... the Brickyarders will be assembling this Saturday for a morning run at 7 AM. See you there!
We are Open and Affirming. We are the only 100% non-snob running group on the planet :-) Come join The Brickyarders for group runs Sunday mornings! We meet at the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail parking lot on Brickyard Road in Farmington. Start time: 8:00 AM. Various distances and paces but everyone is welcome! Way to go Brent. We knew you'd have a great 1st marathon. That might almost be a Boston qualifying time for your age group. I'd check that out if I were you.

There's a gift shop called Tapestry Rose that's quite near Ferry Landing. Its address is 240 Meadow Road, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. This shop is where the little red A is. Just head down Meadow Road a bit to Ferry Ln.
Directions to Tapestry Rose:
- Take I-91 to Exit 24, marked “Wethersfield-Rocky Hill, Route 99.”
- At the bottom of the exit, turn South on Route 99, toward Rocky Hill.
- Go a little more than one mile on Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway).
- Turn left onto Route 160 (Glastonbury Avenue) heading toward the Connecticut River Ferry.
- The shop is on your left at the bottom of the hill, in the former Rocky Hill Train Station.

Tracy Vroeginday woke at 4 AM, drove all the way to Worcester, MA and ran 26.2 miles in 3 hours 59 minutes and 49 seconds, a PR by over 10 minutes. This is her third attempt to go sub-4. Today was her day!

Brent Stratton ran the Iron Horse 10K in 45:55 (7:24 pace).
Mike Taricani ran the Iron Horse 1/2 in 1:54:30, bettering his previous time by 2 minutes.
Rose Famiglietti placed 1st in the Iron Horse 1/2 with her 2:17:56.
Lee Bradley placed 1st in the same race with a 1:46:27.

I think it's safe to say everybody hurts. But it's a good hurt, right?!
Linda Bradley took some awesome pictures. I hope somebody took pix at Worcester. We *need* to see our very own Tray. I can only imagine what she looked like as she stared down that clock creeping closer and closer to 4:00:00.
It was a beautiful day to run. I was actually cold before the race started. But when the race got underway, it was all clear, sunny, and downright gorgeous out.
Well done Brickyarders! We all should be proud! This has been a day to remember. Rest your weary body, and remember how wonderful it is to be alive.
