Big Day on the Greenway!

Not pictured are Mary (who arrived a little later), Steve (who made it all the way down from where he lives to just south of the VDP where we ran into him) and Lani (who took the photograph). Welcome Nicholas and Theresa!
A beautiful day to run and walk! Mike had to be home @ 8:30 so he did 4 before we all started and added on another 6 with us. Lea did 10. Brent, Lee, Tray and Theresa did 12 (Brent a little more). Lani threw in some mile repeats. Linda and Mary walked quite a ways north, then came back and walked south.
Kinda lost track of Nicholas but trust he made it back. He is quite familiar w/ the Greenway and has run it in both Farmington and Southington, where he lives. He said he's just coming back from low Summer mileage and is looking forward to running more in the Fall / Winter.
It was great to have so many come this morning. Rose misses the group and the cooler weather. Send a note to Rose Famiglietti and tell her we miss her too!
With Ghost, Roxbury, Norfolk coming up (and Wallingford Turkey Trot, HTC 8K XC etc. etc.) Lani and Tray are talking numbers like 15 and 16 for next Saturday. Game?! How 'bout 7 AM?

Call to Brickyard!
Let's meet at the old parking lot off Brickyard Rd @ 7:30 AM this Saturday and run at least 10 miles. Let's go toward the VDP and then do a 180 and come back. I don't know if that would get us to the VDP or not.
Many of us have been racing a fair amount so that's why I'm mentioning 10 miles. Of course if you want to go farther (or shorter) I'm sure we can figure out how to work that out.
Is is too early to think about Turkeys? Mr. Slackin's promoting the Wallingford Turkey Trot and I'm sure Lea and he would love our company. It's on 11/18, the day after the 8K XC Challenge. I'm kinda leaning toward doing both.
There's a flat 5K the day after Ghost Run. Jamie's Run. In Old Wethersfield. Tray's looking for a 5K to PR in to meet one of her 2012 goal. Timing isn't ideal but just thought I'd mention it.
Speaking of goals, I have to locate my list. I think I might have not made a single one. I know I missed my 5K goal. Maybe *I* should run Jamie's Run too. Damn, another double? The Weston Reservoir Run (a 1/2) is also on 11/4. I know Lea's being talking about doubling Ghost and Weston.
Lynda Jaeger, who ran with us last year has expressed an interest in joining us again. I got an email from a Nicholas Landry who is looking for a group that runs on Saturday or Sunday. I'll send this to both Lynda and Nicholas.

Congrats to all! It was a beautiful weekend for running! I just wanted to point out that Kelly Burns Gallagher, on the left in the group shot ran the half while Shaun manned the HTC table. Rumor has it Shaun passed out over 500 HTC applications, (!!!) not quite sure of Kelly's time.

Linda and I wandered about after I finished briefly and then spent about 25 minutes waiting for Tracy and Brent to cross. (Sri crossed in 3:31, exactly what he thought he'd do). Turns out Tracy was close behind me and we totally missed her cross in 4:01 :(. Brent got an urgent call at mile 19 and needed to hail a taxi and be transported to the finish line. We managed to catch the departure on film.
