Torrington 5 Miler

Pix by Linda.

The Brickyarders were well represented today at the 43rd annual Torrington Road Race. Adam had a little trouble before the race, locking his keys in his car. No problem. Borrow a tire iron from Laurie von Schmidt and bust out your car window. Good to go.

Larry Regan placed 2 out of 25. Bill Borla (74 years old and fast) was signed up but didn't show up so Lee placed 1/4 with a 7:54 pace, a little slower than he wanted but not too bad. He caught Peter Hawley in the last 1/8 of a mile. Tray was about 40 seconds behind and was misled by Lee to think the course was flat. She did well considering she ran 15 yesterday. Adam ran a 10K yesterday too so he did well too. Just a bit behind Tray.

Brian Fidler was not to be beat.

Ben Mattheis paid an extra $10 for that number.

Chris Chisholm won it. He's done so at least 4 times.

Tray checking results.

Janit Romayko placed. She'll be going to the Newington Fun Run Wednesday next.

  1. Actually, I was using the tire wire to get space so I can put through a coat hanger then all of a sudden it shattered. I was lucky the glasses did not hit me in the eye and I ended up getting only a small cut on my hand.
