  1. Wow Brent and Rose, I'm so envious! Nice job! Rose, too bad your a pacer. At the rate you're going, you could probably have run a 4 hour marathon.

I was just looking at the 4:00 or bust training plan and it only calls for 13 miles this week and 15 next week. It doesn't get to 18 miles for another 4 weeks.

Lani, when you followed it, did you abide by the long run schedule, or did you ramp it up before it called for the longer mileage? I'm having a hard time believing that it will prepare me to be strong enough. Although I noticed that it gets intense about 6 weeks before the marathon. Maybe there's a specific philosophy regarding the order of the long runs?

  2. Agreed. Rose and Brent rock!
Re: your ? Tracy, the plan was written by Bart Yasso. He is very nice, I emailed him about it, and he wrote me back. I will try to dig through my old emails and get that too you, as he would be the one with answers. I do recall that I often ran races or triathlons on long run days, and then came home and did my long runs- but stuck closely to the distances. Maybe the cross training helped but I think the plan prepares you to run at race pace through the high miles. What happens from mile 20-26 is all in the mind...
