Lani Ralston, Ironman!

The site that seems to work best is

http://apache.myathletedata.com/races/32/html/

Lani completed the swim (2.4 miles) in 1 hour 49 minutes and 9 seconds. She had covered 3.17 of the 112 mile bike ride when this was captured.

Update: Lani has covered 85.49 miles on the bike and has only 27.02 to go before she starts the marathon. She has averaged 13.9 mph while on the bike. It has been 8 hours 6 minutes 32 seconds since she started.

Update: 112 miles on the bike. The entire bike ride took 8 hours 17 minutes 53 seconds. She has been in this event 10 hours 27 minutes and 39 seconds. She's covered 2.2 miles on foot and is averaging 9 minute 53 second miles. Unbelievable! Go Lani!

I am happy to report that Lani has completed Iron Man Lake Placid!

  1. This is incredible! I feel like I am there! At this writing, I am "watching" Lani in the marathon. She has 17+ miles to go. We have definitely arrived at the future with this running technology! Go Lani!

  2. Hi everyone, thanks for the encouragement, and Lee thanks for your updates. Yesterday was truly epic. Started with a mass swim of 2000+ people jumping in all at once, there were no age group waves or anything like that so it was full combat swimming to say the least. This was followed by a gorgeous ride though the high peaks region, my speed topped out around 40 mph- too scared to go much faster. The marathon was next, I randomly chose a pace and just stuck to it, and wound up with a finish time of around 14 hrs 40 minutes by my watch. It was a truly thrilling moment to run into the olympic stadium, cross the line, and hear my name announced as an Ironman. Awoke a bit sunburned and very very very hungry but am otherwise ok. Now to pack up what seems like a ton of equipment and head back to the nutmeg state. See you soon- Lani
