Call to Brickyard

Hope everybody is doing well in their training. Looks like we'll have a good turnout this Saturday at Brickyard. Kelsey wants to know what the official start time is these days. I can't understand why he's confused - I mean just cuz some of us have been starting at 6:30, some at 7:00, some at 7:30 and some at 8:00 - seems to me it should be crystal clear ... Kidding aside, he's got a point. So ... the (current) official start time is 7:00 AM.

Rose, Tray, Linda & Lee ran / walked between 2 and 16 miles this morning at Wethersfield High School track and on the Greenway and roads near it. The weather certainly didn't feel very "Augusty."

Mari, Beth, Lea, Tray and Lee have indicated they'll be running. Mari is looking for advice on pace. Brent is running Bridge of Flowers so he won't be there. Rose and Lee are running Torrington on Sunday.

Tray is wondering why people aren't logging their runs and hopes they're not slacking. The log has become a very interesting place to learn how people are doing in their training for upcoming events. Check it out.

Whatever distance and pace you need / have in mind, hope to see you at Brickyard this Saturday. We are making an effort to find matches amongst us to help each other reach their goals.

  1. Lea, Lee, Dave, Barb, Tray, Mari and Beth ran. Dave and Barb ran 5. Tray, Lea and Lee did 10 and then Lea added 2 more to get the 12 she wanted. Mari and Beth came at 7:30 so we finally saw them heading out as we came back. The were doing 10 (which we learned when we called out "How far are you going?!") It was a beautiful day to run.

The idea of running Rogers Orchards has been brought up by Dave. Several Brickyarders are familiar with the area and think it might be a nice alternative some Saturday. There's a 4+ mile loop and a 5+ mile loop. These could be done several times to get the distance each person wants. Barb says the 5+ loop is pretty hilly. Those people that know the area could help us if they would post maps etc. that have the details.
